In one of our projects we had to create a very intense source of light with very low power consumption. Also, it had to be portable and lightweight.

We found the CREE Led, which can deliver up to 10 Watts of power with a rate of 210 Lumens per Watt.

Since its operational voltage can be up to 3.6 Volts,  we could use one cell of 3.7 Volts without any power driver. Therefore, we could reduce the production cost significantly.

We set up the light source to deliver 1 Watt of power, and the heat dissipation of this LED was so low that it could operate without heatsink. Again one more advantage for the manufacturing process!

Finally, we 3D printed a case for the prototype with 200 Lumens under the hood, only one battery cell and tons of autonomy.

Yay!
